The Clamond “battery” was the first thermal battery used in the industry. It was made of zinc and antimony, with iron alloy. The Clamond “battery” can be heated with gas. A bigger scale model was also built and used to produce electric lighting. The “battery” is able to produce a constant electric current under a small volume of energy with relatively low gas spendings.
